2003 to date: I have worked as a freelance translator since May 2003 and went freelance full-time in August 2004.

2005 to 2011: Part-time academic lecturer in legal and advanced Spanish to the post-graduate translation students at the University of Bath.

Particular expertise in European Union matters, government legislation and regulations, court reports and other legal documents. Other fields include economics, politics, fisheries, immigration and international affairs in general. My freelance work has been mainly for the European Parliament and the European Commission (from Estonian, Finnish, French, Italian and Spanish) as a member (and, since December 2010, rotating director) of the Peer Group, a freelance translators’ consortium, and has covered a range of subjects. I have also done some work for the Estonian Literature Information Centre, British Government departments, the European Court of Justice, the World Trade Organization and other international bodies.

IT skills and equipment

I am a PC-literate touch-typist and have an office equipped with a PC operating under Windows XP, with the full MS Office suite. Where possible, translations are performed using memoQ software. I have a dedicated ADSL Internet connection.
