Märten Kross was born in Tallinn in 1970, the youngest son of the writers Jaan Kross and Ellen Niit. Over the last decade he has worked as a film producer and scriptwriter, producing several documentary and feature films, including the film Georg about the life of the famous Estonian singer Georg Ots, and the documentary film Söerikastaja (The Coal Enricher) about his father Jaan Kross’ life. In the 1990s Märten Kross was involved in an international property investment company. He has also played in several ensembles, written the music for a feature film, and is still active as a musician. Märten’s education was in fine arts, and he has a Masters degree from the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, UK. Hullumäng (The Insanity Game, 2014) is his first novel.
